Edgerton School District and Friends of Silverwood Park (FoSP) are collaborating on two summer school opportunities for students grade K-8. Students in the district have received information about summer school opportunities, but FoSP wants to highlight Silverwood Day Camp.
Silverwood Park Day Camp:
Youth, grades K-8, will experience opportunities at a demonstration farm and learn about animal husbandry, organic gardening techniques, and careers in sustainable agriculture. Students will gain experience in planning, design, prepping, planting, maintaining (yep, weeding), harvesting, and food processing.
In addition, students will learn about natural resources (woods, prairie, and lake) at the park. Classes will meet for 3 hours in the morning for 15 days in June and July (allowing time for planting and harvesting). Dates include: June 7, 10, 14, 17, 21, 24, 28 and July 5, 8, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26, and 29. Registration closed.
Edgerton School District and Friends of Silverwood Park are collaborating on this event. Students in the district have priority, but some space may be available for the public to participate.
