  • Harvest Fest 2021

    Silverwood Harvest Fest has been an annual tradition at Silverwood Park just north of Edgerton for over eight years. The event has been open to the public and free. It features live entertainment, food, and booths selling artisan goods, vegetables, honey and flowers. This year Friends of Silverwood Park invites the community to join them at Harvest Fest on Sep 25, 2021 from 11-4.  Grower partners at the park will be selling their organic produce and flowers grown at the park, but sharing harvest is just the start.  Here are some of the many activities and events planned for Harvest Fest this year: Local music by Comin’ in Hot - thanks to Blackhawk Community Credit Union for sponsoring! Oak savanna restoration walk at 11:30 and 1:30 led by the Silverwood woods restoration team Dr. Susan DeVries, professor of Biology at UW-Whitewater, presenting on preparing your backyard to support wintering birds, Stonehouse Visitors’ Center at 3:00 Agroforestry exhibit by Savanna Institute Beekeeping demonstration by Tracy and Kevin Prill, Indigenous Corn Braiding with Dan Cornelius, Intertribal Agriculture Council Heirloom Apple Exhibit by Dan Bussey, author of The Illustrated History of Apples in America and Canada. Artisan vendors Showing of the educational documentary, Kiss the Ground: The Solution Is Right Under Our Feet, shown at noon and 1:00 in the Stonehouse Visitors’ Center Children’s Activities Food and beverages including, homemade pies by Silverwood Friend’s members and volunteers Basic’s Cooperative Organic Food and Table Chef Yusuf Bin-Rella, Slow Foods with Intertribal Agriculture Council   Want to get involved in selling, presenting or volunteering?  Contact Katie@silverwoodpark.org.
